Facebook Employees "Ordered To Use Android App"

There was much rejoicing yesterday when Facebook released an update to its iOS app and made it actually a pleasure to use. It's faster, more streamlined and...did I say...faster.

While, iPhone and iPad users can sit back and enjoy, spare a thought for Android phone owners who still have a slow and clunky Facebook app to contend with.

Well, Business Insider is reporting that Facebook employees are being urged, cajoled and even ordered to use Android smartphones for their Facebook reading and updating.
We dug into the reason for the corporate directive, and the answer we got—from a handful of ex-Facebookers and others familiar with Facebook's plans—surprised us.
It's not some new spat with Apple or an attempt to cozy up to Google, which makes the Android operating system.
Instead, Facebook management realizes its Android app is subpar—and believes that the only way employees will take fixing it seriously is if they have to deal with its issues day in, day out.
Apparently, it's called dogfooding and is common practice among tech companies.
