It looks like Apple is planning a major redesign of the in-built App Store on both the iPad and iPhone with the release - probably next month - of iOS 6.
The latest beta version sent to developers now shows large tiles for each app in Search (above) with a pop-up tile appearing when one is selected (below).
The aim is to use more of the space of the iPad screen and get away from the current list view.
There are changes for the iPhone app too...
As we said, these changes have been included in the latest iOS 6 beta release to developers and may or may not make it through to the final public release.
