Facebook is set to expand its on-line empire by launching an email service for its 500-million users.The announcement will be made at a press conference in San Francisco on Monday, November 15.
It will offer a web-based email service with @facebook.com addresses.
The move is known internally in Facebook as "Project Titan", although unofficially it's dubbed "Gmail-killer".
It means Facebook will be taking on Google's email service, as well as Yahoo and Windows Live head-on.
