The Skyfire browser app for iPhones caused quite a stir when it was released last week in the Apple App Store.Demand was so great, its developers had to temporarily pull it. And even now it's only being released in limited numbers so it doesn't cause another overload.
The reason for it's popularity is it lets you view Flash video on your iPhone - something Apple refuses to build in to iDevices.
MobileCrunch says it's spoken to the Skyfire developers who say the app was downloaded 300,000 times in its first weekend. At $2.99 each, that's $1m. After Apple takes its 30%, it leaves up to $700,000 for the developers. Wow. Not bad going.
And it's now heading for the iPad. Its developers have tweeted they're working on a version for the iPhone's big brother:
