Apparently, allegedly and all that - Steve Jobs has emailed a complaining iPad owner and has denied that Apple is pulling AirPrint from the about-to-be-released iOS4.2 operating system update.
The email exchange - copied and pasted above - was posted on MacRumors Forums by the complaining customer.
There's been increasing speculation that Apple has run into problems with its planned AirPrint feature in iOS4.2.
AirPrint would allow your iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch to print wirelessly to any printer connected to the same PC or Mac WiFi network. It's being seen as a big step forward for iDevices.
It's thought Apple has run into problems with the software that would be needed for Pcs and Macs to make it work.
There's speculation that iOS4.2 could now be released - possibly on Friday - without full AirPrint support.
All this comes after Apple added an "iOS4.2 Coming Soon" page to its website.
Update: Apple has now released an update to its OS X Mac operating system. This is significant because it's thought the update was held back because of problems with AirPrint support. This update makes no mention of AirPrint Support.
To really get the ball rolling now towards the release of iOS4.2, we should see an update for iTunes. When that happens, we will know that iOS4.2 is imminent.
