The Washington Post is the latest daily newspaper to launch itself onto the iPad.Its new app is free to download from the Apple App Store and, like most other publishers, it's testing the water.
It says the app will stay free until February 15, 2011, when it will become subscription.
And how much will the subscription be?
No-one knows yet, of course, The paper will wait to see what the free take-up is like before committing to a price.
It's the latest move by the Post to drag itself into the 21st Century. Last year, it carried it's first front-page display ad and it also closed bureau around the US saying it was "no longer a national paper of record".
The Washington Post iPad app is now live and you can get it here.
The paper has had an iPhone/iPod Touch app out for some time. It costs £1.19/$1.99 but that's a one-off payment and there's no subscription after that.....at the moment.
