Computer manufacturer Advent says it's dropping Flash support from its Vega tablets.It says Adobe Flash 10.1 which came pre-installed fails to work properly with some websites, like the BBC's iPlayer. It says the version of Flash had not completed "certification tests" by Adobe.
The tablet will now ship without Flash installed until the "certification tests" are completed.
The Vega, running Andoird OS, is marketed as a cheaper alternative to the iPad and is sold by Dixons Stores Group in the UK, including PC World and Currys. And it's the latest problem for Adobe Flash, which Apple refuses to support on its iDevices because it says it underperforms.
