Some of the biggest mobile network operators in Europe are apparently calling on Apple and Google to fork out cash to keep the networks running.Apple iPhones and Google's Android smartphones mean increased demand by users for network data services...and the mobile operators can't keep up.
Bloomberg is reporting that some of the biggest operators, including Vodafone, France Telecom and Telecom Italia, have got together to demand Apple and Google pay for improving the networks' infrastructure.
Smartphone sales have rocketed in recent years and users are demanding fast connection speeds for video, music, games and data services in general.
It's reported the networks want Apple and Google to pay fees linked to smartphone owners usage....which, of course, would mean us forking out more cash for our smartphones.
