Microsoft - still desperately playing catch-up with Apple's iPad - is expected to show off a batch of tablet computers at this week's Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.
It's believed Chief Executive Steve Ballmer will take to the stage a la Steve Jobs and hold up devices manufactured by Dell and Samsung running Windows 7. And he'll undoubtedly promise that these machines will take on the mighty iPad.
But, let's rewind a year to January 2010. What happened then? Steve Ballmer took to the stage at the Las Vegas CES and showed off tablet computers running Windows 7. Have any of them been released? No.
In fact, one of them made by HP has been officially dropped: HP says it won't be using the Windows 7 operating system. It's going to use the Palm webOS system that it bought in the meantime.
