It seems an untethered jailbreak for all iPhones, iPads and iPod Touches running the latest iOS4.2.1 is coming soon.
iPhone Dev-Team member, MuscleNerd, posted the video above, showing it working on an iPhone 4. And he's tweeted that another jailbreaker, Comex, is also working on another method. So two in the pipeline is good news.

It means fairly soon we should be able to jailbreak all iDevices and make them untethered. At the moment, Redsn0w only gives an untethered jailbreak for older devices. If you've got an iPhone 4 or an iPad, you get a tethered jailbreak which means you may have to re-run Redsn0w on your computer when you reboot your iDevice.
