Samsung Galaxy Tab Sells One Million In Two Months

The iPad's main rival, the Samsung Galaxy Tab, has sold a million units since it was launched two months ago.

That's a lot more than many people thought possible - mainly because of the Galaxy's ludicrously high price on launch. But now many mobile networks are offering it on contract at a subsidised up-front cost.

It's thought the iPad has sold twice that number in the same period and still holds 90% of the worldwide tablet market. Although Samsung are now predicting Galaxy sales of 1.5-million by the end of the year.

The Galaxy has a smaller 7" screen (iPad 9.7") which makes it more pocketable and it also has front and rear cameras, which the iPad doesn't.

And it would seem to put pay to Steve Jobs famous assertion that 7" tablets aren't viable and "should be given away with sandpaper so users can sand down their fingers"..
