Skyfire Flash iPhone Browser Gradually Goes Global

It was an inauspicious start, but Skyfire is now making up ground.

Skyfire is a web browsing app for the iPhone that lets you watch Flash video embedded in websites - something that Apple doesn't allow in the built-in Safari browser.

It was launched to a blaze of publicity and was then withdrawn from the Apple App Store within hours because the developers' servers couldn't cope with demand.

Since then, it's undergone a phased roll-out. Starting in the US and moving on to Canada, the UK, Ireland, Australia and New Zealand.

Well, it's now invading more of Europe: the Skyfire app is now live in France, Italy and Germany and the developers promise more countries will be added soon.
