The Discount retail chain T.K.Maxx in the UK is promising more cut-price iPads in its stores.
It's been selling iPads for £100 less than Apple Stores. It's only selling WiFi models - 16GB for £329 and the 32GB for £399.
But - and it's a BIG BUT - it seems stocks are very low. Like...VERY LOW. Although the chain is now promising more deliveries to shops. Here's a statement on their website:
"We have received many enquiries about a particular item. As an off-price retailer, our stores provide an ever-changing selection of great finds of famous name fashion and home items at excellent prices. In other words, our mission is to offer our customers a treasure hunt of great values, every day.
We can confirm that we received a number of electronic tablets in around half our stores nationwide. These are first quality and sourced from a reputable and legitimate vendor. They are selling very quickly however there will be a second delivery to stores during next week."
It's not known how much total stock the chain has but it would appear to be not very many and the cut-price iPad offer is a loss leader to get people into the stores. Here's a link to a discussion on the deal at HotUKDeals.
T.K.Maxx did the same in the United States a couple of weeks ago.
