The launch of the first iPad-only newspaper, Rupert Murdoch's The Daily, is set for January 19.
And it seems certain Murdoch will team up with Steve Jobs to front the event at the San Francisco Museum Of Modern Art.
The website www.thedaily.com is now live with a landing page saying "coming soon".
You can bet it won't be soon enough for more than 100 journalists already hired and producing dummy runs from the News Corp headquarters in New York. The launch was first scheduled for last month.
It's thought the delay is because of negotiations with Apple over subscriptions for the publication. It's believed the launch will include an announcement from Apple that it will oversee subscriptions for The Daily. You will subscribe through your iTunes account, and Apple will suck out the money at regular intervals until you unsubscribe.
Many other publications are waiting for this deal to be finalised and will jump on this subscription bandwagon.
At the moment different publications on the iPad use different selling methods, which is confusing for publishers and customers alike.
Many publications that embraced the iPad as the saviour of the newspaper and magazine industry have become somewhat disillusioned as their initial success on the device has waned.
The Daily is expected to cost 59p/99c a week and be aimed initially at the US market.
