It seems the UK public isn't in the mood to take on lengthy data contracts to get their hands on a subsidised iPad.
Before Christmas, three UK mobile networks - Orange, T-Mobile and 3 - started offering iPads on contract.
They're all about the same price: £200 up-front as long as you sign up for a two-year data contract at about £27 a month.
The Times newspaper is now quoting "industry sources" as saying it's been a bit of a flop for Orange.

The network was expecting to sell "tens of thousands of iPads" in the run up to Christmas but, according to The Times, only sold 1,000 in the first week after launch.
Remembering that the majority of iPads sold by Apple in the UK are WiFi and 3G models, it seems we're much happier sticking a pay-as-you-go SIM in our devices than committing ourselves to a 24-month contract.
Orange has refused to comment on the figures apart from saying iPad sales had grown "significantly" in the run-up to Christmas.
Yeah..significantly from zero.
