UK network T-Mobile has confirmed that its new "fair usage" cap on mobile data will be for existing customers as well as new users. From February 1, the cap will be lowered to 500MB. Some existing customers are on 1GB and others on 3GB, which is one hefty cut.
The network won't cut people off if they exceed the new limit, but they will be restricted to simple internet browsing. Downloading, streaming and on-line gaming will be barred.
It says customers who go over the 500MB will be "encouraged" to take out a separate data plan.
