Verizon Cuts Galaxy Tab Price To Fend Off iPad

The Verizon mobile network in the US has cut $100 from the price of a sim-free Samsung Galaxy Tab to try to eat into booming iPad sales.

The trouble with the 7"-screen Galaxy has always been its price. It costs just a little less than the 10" iPad.

The Verizon deal brings the Galaxy down to $500.  Stores are anxious to shift more Samsungs in the face of a new iPad due to be launched in the Spring.
