It seems Apple has at last come up with a solution to Antennagate.
You'll see from the engadget photo above that the metalic side-rim of the newly-announced Verizon iPhone 4 is differently designed.
The side-rim is the phone's antennae - both for mobile network and WiFi. In the Verizon design, it's split into more sections, which also means some of the buttons are in slightly different positions.
Both Verizon and Apple say the redesign was necessary because Verizon runs on different mobile technology - CDMA. All other iPhone 4s were designed for GSM networks.
But remember when the iPhone 4 was launched last year and the Antennagate Scandal - signal would be lost when the phone was held covering the antenna section splits. This forced Apple to give away cases for the device.
Tech journalists who've held the Verizon phone - don't forget it's not released til February 10 - say there was no sign of the signal disappearing when held in the so-called DeathGrip.
But the redesign also means current iPhone 4 cases won't fit the Verizon phone. Manufacturers are starting to produce specially-designed cases for the phone.
