Apple "Eyes Boxcar To Revamp Notifications"

One thing iPhones are not very good at is Notifications. You know, those boxes that appear when you get a ... err...notification.

Or, more likely, those boxes you don't get when you should.

The boxes are ugly, they're complicated to set up and - more to the point - they don't seem to work very well.

CultofMac is reporting that Apple knows notifications are bad and is planning a revamp, including buying a small company that already makes a notification app.

A company mentioned is Boxcar and, if it's true, hooray! My Boxcar app seems spot on with notifications from my chosen services - Facebook, Twitter and email. It works every time. Let's get it built into iOS.

Interestingly, as the buy-up speculation was raging, Boxcar tweeted:

No, I don't know what it means either!
