It seems the long-awaited BBC iPlayer app will go live in the Apple App Store in the UK on Thursday, February 10.
The free catch-up TV and radio service is already optimised for the iPad and iPhone on the web but this takes it onto a self-contained app.
The launch news was broken by a BBC Interactive Operations Engineer, Geoff Marshall, on Twitter:
You'll only be able to watch programmes in the app on a WiFi connection, but you'll be able to browse through what's on offer on 3G. And it will be iPad-only...not iPhone compatible.
In other Tweets, Geoff says the app will initially be UK-only, but an international version is planned for release in the summer. The BBC has said in the past, it may charge a subscription in other countries, and it's thought the first international release will be in the US.
