Inquiry Launched In UK Into eBook Price-Fixing

The UK trade regulator, The Office Of Fair Trading, is launching an investigation into allegations of price-fixing in the eBook publishing industry.

It says the inquiry is “into whether arrangements that certain publishers have put in place with some retailers for the sale of e-books may breach competition rules”.

While no companies have been named, the investigation will certainly centre on the biggest eBook retailers, Apple, Amazon and Google.

The OFT is at pains to point out that the inquiry is "at an early stage"
