Last.fm Calls Time On Free Mobile Radio

The free Last.fm personalised radio service for iPhones and iPod Touches is ending.

From Tuesday, February 15, it'll become a paid-for service at £3 a month across all mobile devices. Until now, it's made money with adverts between the tracks but it says "the best experience for customers" is no ads and subscription instead.

It's only changing its mobile service: listening via the web will remain free.

It brings Last.fm into line with rivals such as Spotify, which charges £10 a month for an ad-free streaming music on both mobile and web.
