The iPhone 4 launched on the network earlier this month, ending AT&T's monopoly in the US. BGR says it has figures from five Apple stores - including two "very prominent" ones - comparing sales of the AT&T iPhone 4 and the Verizon iPhone 4 over the first five days of the Verizon device's availability:
So, it seems customers were hardly flocking for the Verizon version. BGR also claims that when Verizon sold out of pre-order devices a few days before the launch, it had only sold 550,000.
- Thursday: Verizon = 909, AT&T = 539
- Friday: Verizon = 916, AT&T = 680
- Saturday: Verizon = 660, AT&T = 471
- Sunday: Verizon = 796, AT&T = 701
- Monday: Verizon = 711, AT&T = 618
