It looks like those rumours of a smaller cheaper iPhone are true. So says the Wall Street Journal and Apple loves using the WSJ for unattributed leaks.Someone "who's seen a prototype" says the iPhone Nano will be marketed alongside the current line. It's half the size and will be half the price.
Apple certainly needs to get more iPhones out there to sell more apps and get more newspaper and magazine subscriptions. The newest Android OS devices - manufactured by several companies - are overtaking iPhone sales, so Apple must widen its horizon.
The WSJ also "confirms" another rumour that's been circulating for some time. Apple's MobileMe subscription syncing and on-line storage system is likely to go free. Google already does it for nothing on Android and it would pave the way for a music streaming service.
