It's reported Apple and its major manufacturer, Foxconn, may be planning to move some production lines from China to Brazil.
It's known both companies want to increase production capacity and it's claimed they're now looking to South America. Foxconn already has two production lines in Brazil - for HP and Sony.
Macgasm is quoting a Brazilian website saying Foxconn has commissioned studies to see whether manufacturing Apple products there is also feasible.
The iPad 2, which went on sale in the US on March 11, sold out within hours with on-line ordering shipping times now up to a month.
