It seems Apple may be going ahead with Instant Payment technology in the upcoming iPhone 5 after all.
It comes after The Independent newspaper reported Cupertino was delaying the introduction of the swipe-to-pay chip swiftly followed by Google announcing it's planning to test instant payments on Android phones in New York and San Francisco.
Forbes is reporting "a source" saying the iPhone 5 may well still include the technology.
Mobile manufacturers are racing to get a payment standard introduced. It's a bit like the old VHS vs Betamax race over video recording. Whoever wins stands to make a lot of money. And Apple believes it's well placed because it already holds millions of customer credit card accounts through iTunes. In fact, it's got the biggest credit-card database of any retailer.
And that's just too important to throw away to Google.

Also what do you think about the supposdily leaked images of the new iphone? I wish they made it look a little more diffrent from prevous models myself.
