An iPhone app that claimed to "cure" homosexuality has been pulled from the Apple App Store after a wave of protests.
The app, produced by the US-based Exodus International organisation, provoked anger from civil rights groups and a petition to Apple to have it banned has reached more than 140,000 signatures. The app claimed to offer "freedom from homosexuality through the power of Jesus Christ".
Apple had classified the app as 4+, which meant it was considered to have "no objectionable content".
The app has now disappeared from the App Store, and it appears it was removed by Apple, although there's been no official comment.
The organisers of the petition are calling on people to continue signing.
