Google Remotely Nukes Rogue Apps on Android Phones

Google has used its remote "kill switch" to clean up Android phones infected with rogue apps.

Nearly 60 malware-infected apps were discovered in the Android Market store and it's estimated they were downloaded by up to 200,000 users. The apps were programmed to steal users private data.

The "kill switch" lets Google remotely uninstall apps from smartphones running its Android operating system.

The malicious apps have been removed from the store, the developers suspended and Google says it has contacted the police.

So, if your Android phone has some missing apps, now you know why.
