Gordon Brown "Blocked Knighthood For Steve Jobs"

The Daily Telegraph is reporting that former British Prime Minister Gordon Brown blocked an honorary knighthood for Apple founder Steve Jobs.

It quotes an unnamed ex-MP saying it was because the Apple CEO had refused to speak at a Labour Party Conference.  He was put forward for the honour for services to technology. But it was blocked when it got to Downing Street for approval.

In 2005, Microsoft founder Bill Gates was awarded an honorary knighthood and so was U2 singer Bono.
