The Microsoft Zune portable music player: Born 2006...died 2011.
Bloomberg is reporting that Microsoft is killing off its Zune portable media player. It must be said Microsoft has persevered with the failed iPod-rival and has tried to jump start sales several times.
But it never managed to break the iPod's grip on the market with a share now of just 2%.
Bloomberg says there'll be no new Zune models although Microsoft will still support using the software on other devices.
RIP Zune.
