The UK retail chain PC World has put up a Motorola Xoom tablet pre-order page and the WiFi-only model is priced at £449.99.
That's £60 less than its direct rival, the 32GB WiFi-only iPad, although there's no release date.
It comes as something of a surprise, after US Xoom pricing was announced at above the iPad.
The 10.1"-screen Xoom is seen as the first major rival to the iPad's dominance in the tablet market. The Xoom runs on Google's new Android Honeycomb operating system, which has been getting glowing reviews, and has front and rear cameras. Apple is due to announce a new range of iPads tomorrow.
Here's the PC World Xoom webpage. At the time of writing, the "pre-order" button wasn't working, but we're sure that's a glitch that will be corrected soon.
Update: The "pre-order" button has now vanished and has been replaced with "For More Information - Come Back Soon".
