There are some iPhone apps you suddenly realise you can't do without. For me, NextBus is one of them.
When you launch the app, which is UK-only, it locates where you are and shows you the nearest bus-stops. Tap on a stop and you get a list of the next buses due and when they're due. In many areas you get "real-time" schedules but not everywhere, including - surprisingly - London.
It's incredibly useful to use before you set off for your local bus-stop to see if everything's running to time.
