The iPad's first dedicated newspaper, The Daily, will be launched in Western Europe, including the UK, soon.
News Corp's Chief Digital Officer, Jon Miller, says it will be available on subscription "not too long from now". He was fairly cagey, but when asked if it would be in the first half of this year, replied yes. But it's not yet known if there'll be dedicated editions for different countries.
The Daily is already available in the US. At the moment it's on free trial, but will start charging a subscription of 99c a week next week. It'll be a crunch time for Rupert Murdoch's digital baby. It's estimated only 5,000 people have signed up for subscriptions so far, but the telling time will be when it stops being free.
