Twitter iPhone App Updated But #DickBar Still There

Twitter has updated it's official iPhone app - but the controversial "Quick Bar" is still there.

At least it's been modified so it doesn't float on top of your timeline, but it's still there all the same.

There was an outcry when the trending topic bar first appeared with the last update of the free app and it was dubbed #DickBar by users on twitter.  Many of the trending topics are sponsored and users saw it as overt in-your-face advertising. Twitter immediately submitted an update to the Apple app store.

It's not quite as annoying now, but the good news is you can still get rid of it if you have a jailbroken device.

There's tweak in the Cydia app store called Twizzler that blocks the #DickBar, leaving a slightly less annoying blank space. And Twizzler still works with this latest update.
