The Sn0wbreeze jailbreak has been updated by developer iH8sn0w and now works with the latest iOS4.3.3. It's untethered and will preserve your baseband if you want to unlock.
You need to use a Windows PC and Sn0wbreeze will jailbreak all devices - including the Verizon iPhone 4 on iOS4.2.8 - except the iPad 2.
I'm afraid an untethered jailbreak for the new iPad still hasn't been released, but hopes are high it will be out soon.
Sn0wbreeze joins two other jailbreak methods for 4.3.3 (except iPad 2) - Redsn0w, which works on Windows and Macs but won't preserve your baseband, and Pwnage Tool, which works on Macs and preserves your baseband. Here's a link to them.
And here's where to download Sn0wbreeze and here's a tutorial from the guys at iPhoneDownloadBlog - it's an old tutorial but the method is the same.
