Apple Moves To Protect Developers In Lodsys Patents Dispute

Apple has filed court papers to try to protect App Store developers facing legal action from patent-holder company Lodsys, which claims dozens of developers have failed to licence its in-app purchases patents.

Apple maintains it has a licence with Lodsys and that covers all developers selling apps in the App Store.

In effect, it seems Apple wants to fight the developers' defence cases itself.  The court in the US has still to rule whether this will be allowed.
