Time for more figures. Google is consolidating Android as the most popular smartphone operating system in the US, with Apple's iOS climbing slowly and RIM's Blackberry dropping fast, according to the latest data from comScore.
The figures in the table above compare smartphone sales in the US for the three months to the end of May to the previous three-month period.
It's interesting to note that Microsoft continues to lose its small foothold in the market despite the launch and publicity surrounding its new Windows Phone 7 OS.
The usual caveat to keep Google's lead in perspective: Android is used by lots of manufacturers on lots of smartphones. iOS is only used on the iPhone.
