Big Price Hike For Apple App Store - Up To 20% Rise In UK

iTunes has had a bit of down time, and it's come back with price changes in international App Stores.  Some countries have seen price cuts and others price rises.

The UK seems to be among the unlucky ones, with price increases.

For example, Angry Birds and Angry Birds Rio, which were 59p, are now 69p.  It seems 69p is now the normal UK App Store minimum price comparing with the US store 99c, which is unchanged.

There are winners as well: the Australian App Store has seen price cuts of up to 25%.

Update: The price hike for apps in the UK app store is confirmed at price points across the board.

59p apps are now 69p
£1.19 apps are now £1.49

As usual, there's no explanation from Apple for the changes but presumably they're tied in with the strength of the $ against other currencies.
