Hacker Who Leaked JailbreakMe Owns Up As Two-Faced Blogs Get Sanctimonious




Hearts were a-flutter in the iOS jailbreak world yesterday when someone released the latest jailbreak - JailbreakMe - that apparently also works on the iPad 2.

JailbreakMe is a project being worked on by hacker Comex and it was a beta tester who released it. It caused a storm with iPhone download blogs posting instructions of how to use the leaked JailbreakMe at the same time as condemning the unauthorised leak - talk about sanctimonious and trying to butter your bread on both sides.

Well, someone has now owned up for the leak - which by the way is no longer available. He's Ryan Lobbins who gave it to a friend who leaked it (so they both did, really) and here's his explanation:

As the dust settles, we still wait for Comex's official JailbreakMe release - as long as he gets it out before Apple fix the exploit it uses with n iOS update.
