Sony has failed miserably with its range of eBook readers. In fact, Sony is failing all over the place after compromising millions of customers' information in a hacking attack on its PlayStation Network.
Well, it hasn't given up. The Best eReaders website says Sony will be releasing two new eBook readers next month, in advance of two already-announced tablets:
“The new Sony Reader will be released in two different models ranging in price from $180 to $300. The two new devices will have hardware and software upgrades and will have built in WIFI. They both plan on being launched this August before the companies S1 and S2 tablets are due out,” said Phil Lubell, vice president of digital reading at Sony Electronics. In the face of the Kindle and Nook readers, and Apple's iPad, Sony will have to launch good, innovative products at competitive prices. And, to be honest, that doesn't sound like Sony.
