ZDNet has spotted an interesting app update in the Apple App Store. It's the Audible audiobook app, which now features a very large in-app purchase button with "Enter the mobile store" written all over it in large writing.
But, hang on, doesn't this break Apple's new rules that prevent in-app buttons linking to outside stores for purchases or subscription? Isn't this the rule that forced Amazon Kindle, The Financial Times and lots of other apps to drop their buttons?
So, has Apple changed the rules? Or has Audible just got lucky and caught the App Store team off guard?
And just to confuse things further...Audible is an Amazon company.
