The two men who last year sold a prototype iPhone 4 to the gadget website Gizmodo have been sentenced.
The device was left in a California bar by an Apple employee. It was found by Brian Hogan and, helped by Sage Wallower, he flogged it around several tech blogs before Gizmodo bought it and blew Apple's secrecy cover before the device was released.
Both men, who admitted theft of lost property, were sentenced to one year's probation, 40 hours of public service, and they ordered to pay Apple $250 each in restitution.
