Apple has been busy securing its front-bench executives with a huge share handout aimed at keeping them with the company until 2016.
Six Senior Vice Presidents are each getting 150,000 shares and a seventh is getting 100,000.
Just to put that into perspective, 150,000 Apple shares are today worth $60m.
Not surprisingly, there are a couple of important clauses in the bonus packages: the execs can't to anything with half their bonus shares until 2013 and not until 2016 for the other half.
If they leave the company while their shares are "locked", they lose them.
They all get 150,000 shares except Eddie Cue, who gets 100,000. And there's no mention of Jonathan Ive, but we fully expect him to be secured in a separate deal.
Earlier this year, Tim Cook was given 1m shares when he was appointed CEO, taking over from Steve Jobs. Half his shares become "unlocked" in 2016 and the other half in 2021.
