True to its word, Apple has released iOS5.0.1 update for iPhone iPad and iPod Touch. Apple says it fixes battery drain problems.
Many users, especially people with the iPhone 4S, complained that iOS5 was making their devices drain the battery far too quickly.
The update also fixes a security hole in iOS5, which some hackers are hoping to use for an untethered jailbreak. So, if you really want to jailbreak iOS5, don't update to iOS5.0.1 yet.
And good news for owners of the original iPad...the update adds multitasking gestures, which for some odd reason were missing in iOS5. You can now multi-gesture just like and iPad 2 owner.
Also...don't forget you can update the operating system now on your device. You don't need to plug it into iTunes. Just go to Settings>General>Software Update.
Update: Redsn0w tethered jailbreak works on iOS5.0.1. Redsn0w does not work yet on the iPhone 4S or iPad 2. Redmond Pie has instructions.
