US watchdog organisation, Consumer Reports, has finally put the iPhone 4S on its "recommended" list, but it's below some Android smartphones.
It pulled the iPhone 4 from "recommended" ranking last year because of Antennagate issues with the device antenna and dropped signal. But it now says it's tested the iPhone 4S and confirmed that Apple has cured the problem with an antenna redesign.
“In special reception tests of the iPhone 4S that duplicated those we did on the iPhone 4, the newer phone did not display the same reception flaw, which involves a loss of signal strength when you touch a spot on the phone’s lower left side while you’re in an area with a weak signal.”But Consumer Reports puts some Android devices above the iPhone 4S, including Samsung's Galaxy S2 and Motorola's Droid Bionic.
