Even the biggest can fail. We've been waiting years for an official Google Mail app for the iPhone and iPad. And Google has now given us one...well, for an hour or two.
The search giant had to pull the new app from the Apple App Store after widespread complaints that it didn't work. It had start-up errors, notifications didn't work properly, it was unresponsive and just plain bad.
Google says:
Earlier today we launched a new Gmail app for iOS. Unfortunately, it contained a bug which broke notifications and caused users to see an error message when first opening the app. We've removed the app while we correct the problem, and we're working to bring you a new version soon. Everyone who's already installed the app can continue to use it.You can follow IJSMblog on Twitter and Facebook
