Network operator Vodafone UK has announced a 5.7% rise in profits to £633m for the six months to September 30.
The network says it increased customers by 325,000 to total 19.33m in the UK, where the biggest network is still Everything Everywhere, formed by the merging of Orange and T-Mobile.
Globally, Vodafone reports a 4.1% rise in revenue to £23.5bn with 9.4m new customers. The company's worldwide subscriber base is now 391m, a rise of 2.5%, with big increases in India, Egypt and its African subsidiary Vodacom.
Revenue from voice calls has continued to go down, but its been more than offset by increases in revenue from text messages and data.
