Apple has won a one-week extension to a temporary ban on Samsung selling its Galaxy Tab 10.1 tablet in Australia.
It takes the ban through to December 9, which is eating into Samsung's important Christmas sales time.
(Source: RTT)Apple and Samsung are locked in various patent infringement battles in at least 12 courts, nine countries, and four continents involving smartphone and tablet patents since April. They have accused each other of copying design and patent infringements primarily in Australia, Britain, the U.S., Japan, South Korea, Germany, the Netherlands, France and Italy.Last week Samsung had won an appeal against Apple, where a full bench of an Australian Federal court overturned the previous month's decision by a lower court to temporarily ban the sales of Galaxy 10.1 Tab, ahead of a final ruling in the patent infringement case. Apple was to apply to the High Court for any extension of the stay.Samsung had reportedly planned to initiate the sale of the tablet at 4 p.m. Sydney time on Thursday.
