Head spinning trying to keep up with the plethora of tech patent legal actions? Don't know if you're coming or going with who copied who (allegedly)?
I know what you feel like. But here's another to deal with.
Motorola has won a ban on Apple iOS devices in Germany. That's all the iPhones and the iPad and iPad 2 as well. But it doesn't include the iPod Touch.
Motorola is claiming Apple infringed a patent covering...
”...a method for performing a countdown function during a mobile-originated transfer for a packet radio system.”We don't really know yet what this decision means practically. It's a preliminary hearing and no doubt Apple will appeal for it to be suspended pending something at a higher court.
Yesterday, Samsung failed to get the iPhone 4S banned in France.
Update: Apple has confirmed it will appeal against the German court's decision. It's still not known if Motorola will enforce today's judgement, which stops Apple stock being imported into Germany, but it's thought Apple has enough stock already in the country not to be too concerned by the ruling.
