Samsung boss says Windows Phone devices aren't selling well

The boss of Samsung's mobile division has made it clear he's losing interest in the Windows Phone operating system.

J.K.Shin has told the Wall Street Journal that WP sales aren't good, although he held off from saying the South Korean giant will abandon the OS completely in favour of Android.

Samsung has produced one WP8 phone, the ATIV S, but has failed to market it heavily.

WSJ: What about your relationship with Microsoft? Has it changed after Nokia began to work more closely with Microsoft on Windows devices?

Mr. Shin: Smartphones and tablets based on Microsoft's Windows operating system aren't selling very well. There is a preference in the market for Android. In Europe, we're also seeing lackluster demand for Windows-based products.
